The following summary is based upon a review of the attached weather records, and can be stated with a reasonable degree of meteorological certainty. TURNERS FALLS, MASSACHUSETTS DECEMBER 1, 1996: Skies were cloudy throughout the date. Occasional rain fell throughout the 24 hour period. Approximately 1.10 inches of rain fell on this date. Snow or ice was not present on exposed outdoor surfaces. Winds were south to southeast at 7 - 16 MPH with occasional gusts of 30 MPH during afternoon. Maximum temperature: 54 F. Minimum temperature: 39 F (please note that the freezing point of water is 32 F). DECEMBER 2, 1996: Skies were
cloudy during the morning and partly to mostly cloudy throughout the
balance of the date. Occasional rain, continuing from the previous
evening, ended at approximately 10:00 AM EST. The rainfall totaled
approximately 0.60 inch. Snow or ice was not present on exposed outdoor
surfaces. Winds were south at 10 - 20 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH early in
the morning, then became northwest at 10 - 18 MPH by 3:00 AM. Winds
remained northwest and increased to 15 - 25 MPH with gusts of 30 - 40
MPH between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM EST, and gradually decreased to 10 - 18
MPH with gusts to 25 MPH during the balance of the afternoon, before
diminishing to 4 - 8 MPH at night. Maximum temperature: 55 F. Minimum
temperature: 33 F. |
